Planning our excursions for next year and not sure what to choose for Geiranger and Haugesund Fjords. I like having our excursions planned in advance but we do like independent tours so curious what options you found.

We have not sailed on Margaritaville. The only suites we have found that are really worth the price are the suites on the Celebrity Edge class ships. They are expensive so we only do one per year.

The only thing I disagree with is the casino being non smoking. The majority of gamblers on our cruise were smokers, and as you know the smoking section was on the 10th deck on the opposite end of the ship from the casino. That causes the casino to lose out big time.

My wife and I were taking about this while watching the video, and I think we know where the issues lie, the Operations Department! It’s one thing to be a “new” cruiseline that now only has two ships, but that’s where the importance of having experienced and knowledgeable people come in to play. For starters, hire a tech team to deal with creating the app and installing the Wi-Fi onboard. Then hire an awesome chef to create the buffet items and all menus. I could go on and on but I think you get the drift. I have only been in the restaurant industry for 32 years but what do I know. We sailed the Margaritaville at Sea in 2022 for their inaugural one day sailing and met some content creators onboard who agreed with our opinions of the ship at the time and we had referred to it as the “Winn Dixie of the Seas” due to the transformation. I do think the Islander is a beautiful ship and does represent what the brand is trying to do, I only wish they could get a ship from scratch to fully implement everything they want to do. Keep up the great work Jared and Jordan! 🙏🙏🙏

The biggest scam on the Celebrity ship was the art auction! They give away fake $200. spa gift certificates to fool the audience, but we won one and then found out that it is really $200. off on a $2600.00 facial at the cruise spa. LOL Then they drop-ship the art to buyers from a website after selling it way over the price the buyer would have gotten buying it online! The art is just "lithograph printed" on canvas then topped with a few brush strokes from an unknown artist!

Drink package...is it worth it or buy individually?

I was on the June 18 cruise and I think your review was spot on. The one thing I would add, since you didn’t actually taste the buffet food, is that it most of the food was cold. And the Fins complementary dining room was just okay. For breakfast, the Fins only had a buffet that was also cold. And it wasn’t open for lunch even on sea days. So if you don’t upgrade to the Islander restaurant, the food is an issue.

I am one of your “elders”. I am in my 70’s. I think you should do what you did. Let the staff handle it in this case. If you aren’t in the dining room, in a public area you might try saying something but know it probably won’t help much. I personally would walk up to him and ask “ is there something I can help you with”? If the person has decreased cognition that may be helpful. It if you start with a critical statement I can promise it will probably escalate the situation. Truthfully there is no right answer. But it is very hard to stand by and do nothing. I’m sorry you and everyone else had to witness this it is upsetting. ❤

Never could understand why people show up just to wait around. I'm Diamond on Carnival and show up late and get on the ship in 10 minutes. Time is money!

I really appreciate your review, thanks so much! We are booked for 11/9. Celebrating hubby's 60th BD. We booked a balcony. I only placed $100 deposit as I saw all the reviews for the Paradise. This ship looks so much better. The things you mentioned that were bad, I don't think will bother us too much. Besides the may quite possibly work out many of those by November. We are looking forward to it!

The pool reminds me of what use to be at Animal Kingdom Lodge. They had it look green to look like a natural water feature in the Serengeti, but people were so turned off by this they drained and repainted it to be a more normal pool. Although if the water truly is gross, well, that’s something else entirely lol

Congratulations. Awesome that you are doing this. Go for it. As a young (62) retiree who is debt free with a steady income, (also a frequent cruiser) this is on my radar.

I'm booked and encouraged that by my 6 day February cruise they will have worked out the kinks.

I feel this ship will grow in business and carnival and Royal Caribbean should watch out It’s nice to have different cruise line for short or long trips

FYI, Princess doesn't have lifeguards. I can't remember if Celebrity does.

Celebrity Edge in 2024 had too firm beds which we found to be a deal breaker! This ship is 5 years old so you cant say the beds needed breaking in.

Talking about the no smoking in the casino......all Celebrity ships have no smoking in the casino and its been like that for a number of years.

We had a green pool on Symphony of the Seas for a couple of days. Pools are difficult to maintain. Margaretaville ownership is sound, and the company will continue to grow.

I have never ever seen anybody use a lift to get into a pool or hot tub. Not saying it doesn't happen but highly unlikely that it gets used once a sailing if that

The GOOD for us would be a smoke-free casino. The BAD for us -- it's an old ship and how stable is the ship in rough seas? Newer ships have stabilizers that drastically reduce the ship from rocking back and forth. Sounds like this would be a deal breaker for us. Still want to try Virgin Voyages, but not so keen on Margaritaville at this time. Of course, if we really wanted to splurge, we'd go on a Celebrity Edge-class ship!

We have been sceptical about their first ship. After your review, this is two channels now that have highly recommended the Islander! We can't wait to go on it!

If they can't move guest services, hopefully they'll stop the loud music 😅 bartenders on a margaritavillle ship. Well, any cruise ship ...NEEDS to be on point!
